No One is Perfect

No one is perfect, but we can all try to be better every single day! Heather didn't want to be in this world and, to be honest, I don't blame her. No, I am not going to join her, but I am going to try to be a better person every day of my life.

Do you have problems in your life? Me too! We all do! The question is, how do you deal with your problems? Is it everyone else's fault or is the problem in decisions that we have made. Yes, there are situations where good people get hurt for no apparent reason, but I'm not talking about that.

Do you think everyone judges you? Are you judging yourself? Are you trying to make changes and feel like people doubt you? Well, depending on some of the choices you have made in the past, it may take a while for people to believe you. Maybe some of your choices hurt others. However, if you are changing for the better, keep changing. You won't convince people that you have changed by your words. You need to show them the changes by your actions.

Are you constantly complaining about work? Are you complaining that they don't appreciate you? Do you appreciate your job? Are you doing the best work that you can do or are you spending so much time complaining that no one even wants to be around you? If you can't stand your job, are you taking steps to get a job that doesn't make you miserable?

There is one lady I know. She complains that no one likes her. Everyone ignores her. No one wants to be around her. To be honest, she really isn't a nice person. I asked her point blank, have you tried being nicer to people and maybe they will start being nicer to you? Her answer, was no - I'm a b**** and that isn't going to change. (Sorry, I'm not going to swear but she did describe herself with that word.) Well, life is going to go on the same for her. She had no desire to be a better person. She only wanted to complain. While others made the effort to be nice to her, she wasn't willing to make any changes to be nicer to others.

I knew another guy. Everything and everyone in the world was racist. They all gave him grief because he was black. Really? Yet, every other word out of his mouth was the "N" word. I tried talking with him too. I asked him why he had to use the "N" word all the time. I told him it really bothered me. His reply was since he was black, he could use it. But if someone wasn't black, they couldn't. Really? So, he was happy describing himself with a derogatory word, and then questioned that people thought poorly of him and all the whites were racist. I asked him point blank if I was racist. No - you aren't. Then I asked him, why he was?

Don't put yourself down! Build yourself up! If you don't like your situation, stop trying to find something else to blame it on and start making the changes with yourself. As an individual, it's really hard, if not impossible, to change the entire world. We need to start with ourselves. We need to stop blaming our problems on color, religion, nationality, etc., and start looking at ourselves. We need to be the change in the world that we want to see. We need to start inside ourselves.

If you can't stand your job, start exploring options. What would you like to do? Do you need to take some courses? Do you need to resolve some anger issues? If you like what your job but people don't take you seriously there, are you putting your best foot forward or are you spending your days complaining?

If everyone walks away when you come around, maybe you need to be nicer to people too? If you want to be mean and be a bully, no one is going to want to be around you. If you want to gossip about everyone, trust me, people are going to gossip about you. Are people making up stories about you that aren't true? Know they aren't true. Again, we won't convince them with your words, you need to convince them with your actions. Actions speak so much more than words.

Accept that no one is perfect. Accept that you aren't perfect. Accept that people can change and start making some changes in your life that will make you happier. We all can do that. One day at a time, we can make ourselves better people. We can encourage others to do the same!
