Will the Real You Stand Up

Above all else, be yourself. One of the things we know now is that Heather didn't think she was enough. She was insecure and hid parts of herself through stories. Know this and know this well, you are enough! If you want to make changes in your life, that is great. Life is constant change. Just know that whatever you do in life, be the real you.

I was with one guy for quite a while. He didn't change me overnight, but gradually, it got to the point where I didn't even know myself. I was becoming someone else and it wasn't me. So, while you can make changes in your life to give yourself a better life, be sure the changes are for you and not for someone else. Deep in your soul, you know who you are. Be that person. If they don't like you for who you are, it's time to move on from that relationship. Be with someone who brings out the best in you, not someone who wants you to become the best of them.

If you tell one person a story, you now have to remember the story for ever and remember who you told the story too. Since we have lost Heather, I've heard a few stories that she had shared that weren't true. Yes, those stories hurt when I heard them, but imagine being Heather. She had to keep the stories straight. She had to constantly remember who she told what to. You don't want to live like that. In all things, be honest. If someone can't see your value as you are as a person, do you really need them in your life? Stories can just cause pain in your future.

There was one person I met long ago. They had like zero friends in their life. It seems that every person they met knew a different person. It's not surprising that they didn't have any friends around them ever. If friends met them, and knew different stories, that could have been very bad. Now, this person wasn't stupid, they were actually very smart. But, because of the stories and lies, they lived a life of solitude. Is that the kind of life that you want? Living alone in fear of someone finding out the truth?

The best way to get through life is to be honest. If someone hurts you, talk to that person and above all else, be honest. Don't hide the truth in a false story. You will always have to keep that story in the back of your mind. Some people tell so many stories, they actually start to believe their own stories. Instead, live your life being the best you. If you need help with something, ask someone. If someone is hurting you, let it be known. No one has the right to run your life but you. Be the best you can be.

When you are talking with someone, remember a few things. Is it necessary? Is it kind? It is true? There is so much hate and anger being shared around on social media. Before you make that next post, think of the others that are reading it. Is it going to make their life better? Is it going to hurt someone? Is it really necessary? Is there a chance that one day you will want to take your words back? Be yourself and be the better person.

The other part of that is to listen to what the person is really telling you. One of the best ways to help to stop the pain is to listen. Listen to what people are truly saying. Imagine if we had a world that really listened to what others are saying and heard them. Perhaps we wouldn't see as much pain because people would know that they were being listened to!
