Dopamine - It's Your Happy Body (And So Much More)

Dopamine. It's so much more than I can describe in a simple post, so there will be many posts about it. Do you feel like all you want to do is cry? Do you feel like you want to turn to drugs? Do you just feel like ending it all? Instead of trying those alternatives, why don't you try changing your diet first!

There is a great article on Natural Society that you should all check out. How to Increase Dopamine Levels: Foods to Eat and What to Do. (Clicking on that link will bring you to the article - it's not an affiliate link, it's just a great article with fantastic information.)

Basically, these foods are high in tyrosine which helps your body produce dopamine. Now, there are dopamine receptors and all of that, but again, this is an excellent reason to watch our diets. You know the saying, you are what you eat. This is so true in so many ways.

Think of the old saying. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well, apples are high in tyrosine and an apple a day will help your body to trigger dopamine! So, if you want to change one thing in your diet, that's pretty easy to change, start there. Start your day with an apple a day!

Another way to increase dopamine is getting things accomplished. Set yourself daily goals. Things that you want to get accomplished. As you complete these goals, it triggers the release of dopamine! My goal today was to share this information with you. Yes, there will  be more shares than just today, but hey, that's more daily triggers of dopamine and that is a good thing.

Yes, it's also great to get some exercise. Get the blood flow moving. That's my hard part. Most days I really don't want to do too much of anything. Carter comes in real handy for that. Imagine having a 4-year old believe that you aren't doing anything. It's actually easier, even on the roughest days, to get up and play with him.

Now, I'm going to end this here and I will be back to share more, but this should get you going in the right direction. Check out the listing of foods, set yourself little goals and do a little bit of exercise. My goal is to write a post every day. Yes, I always share the giveaways on a post, but a 2nd post. My longer term goal is to do 3 posts a day, but for now, one step at a time. Let me get into the habit of doing 2. When that is accomplished on a daily basis, I will increase it to 3!

Now, go have an apple (skin and all), go eat a banana, take a 5-10 minute walk and get those dopamine levels up. I'll be back tomorrow with some more information for you! Have a great day! Remember, no matter what you feel inside, You Are Worth It. You Are Worth Everything!
