Heather Keeps Making Me a Better Person


Heather was one of the best people in my life and her absence screams at me. I just miss her. I don't know of another way to say that. Heather tried her best, for everyone, not just for those that she liked. We all need to be a little more like Heather was.

One of the things that Heather stated in her goodbye note was that she did not want to live in this world. I hear those same words repeatedly from many people. I agree with her. Now, I could moan and groan that the politicians and leaders of this world should do something about it. Well, when was the last time one of them really did a thing to help you or to help make this world a little better place. Yeah, never.

We need to be the change that we want to see. Today, say hi to someone, whether you know them or not, really look at that person in the eye and tell them to have a great day! Do you know someone struggling financially and don't have a lot to spare yourself? Make a little extra for dinner and share with them. Invite them over or just surprise them with something that you dropped off.

Showing someone you care doesn't have to cost anything financially. Showing someone you really care can mean the difference between life and death for some people. If someone told Heather they needed her, she was there - morning, noon or night! Actually, after we lost Heather, we heard a few stories from people that she talked them out of taking their own lives.

Don't wait until there is another angel in Heaven. Every day, help make this world a place that we all want to live in. Where we stop looking at the color of people's skin, where we stop looking at the "things" that they own, where we don't worry about politics, religion or any other beliefs. Let's make this a world that thrives on the people that are living around us. One person at a time, we can make a difference.

Strive to be the best person you can be. If we all did that, the world would start to be a better place. No matter your beliefs or non-beliefs. I wish you and yours a fantastic day. I wish you a smile to start your day and a smile to fall asleep with. Look for the good, search it out if you have to, but there is something good right around the corner. Never stop looking for the good!

No One is Perfect

No one is perfect, but we can all try to be better every single day! Heather didn't want to be in this world and, to be honest, I don't blame her. No, I am not going to join her, but I am going to try to be a better person every day of my life. Do you have problems in your life? Me too! We all do! The question is, how do you deal with your problems? Is it everyone else's fault or is the problem in decisions that we have made. Yes, there are situations where good people get hurt for no apparent reason, but I'm not talking about that. Do you think everyone judges you? Are you judging yourself? Are you trying to make changes and feel like people doubt you? Well, depending on some of the choices you have made in the past, it may take a while for people to believe you. Another birthday without you here on Earth with us. I have to say, I have the 3 best daughters in the world. Yes, Heather, you are included in that. I miss you so much! I don't know how I am going to live with this pain for the rest of my life. I remember when you were born. We were all so excited when you arrived. You were (and are) perfect in every single way. I was so nervous something was going to be wrong but all was better than I could have ever hoped. Granted, I really don't like hospitals, but you were so perfect, we were on our way home hours after you arrived. One of your favorite things to do was to pose.
